I went out early this morning to poke around for a few items before I left this two-block-wide town. Food supply is still low, but manageable. I refilled my water at a near by, rundown building that fortunately had a sealed jug ripe for the taking. My pack's strap also broke, but I managed to find enough miscellaneous rolls of tape to, for the time being at least, firmly fix it.
The roads have been quiet all day today and I've been making great time. I've seen a few zeds wandering down the roadside, but nothing I couldn't avoid. Even with good time and clear roads I believe I'm still a few days off from any roads that will take me anywhere but Pisshole the town; all these backroads are foreign to me and I've got hardly a clue where one will lead. After lunch I'm going to continue until dusk, maybe find a shit shack to stop in for another night.
Whatever road I'm on now is desolate. No towns, no cars, no zeds, no luck. Night is too close for me to double back or push forward, the only option I have is to hike out-of-sight of the road into the woods as to avoid any other travelers that may come down this way. The woods seem quiet enough for me to limit zed interactions to a minimum, but I'll still rig up some cans in close proximity just in case. I won't be able to light a fire tonight with all this dry air blowing through, can't risk to upset Smokey, I'll just have to cover myself with what I can find in my pack.

I think there's someone out there. I can feel watched and I swear that I heard breathing. I'm going to prop myself up against this tree with my axe in hand and hope to God that I don't fall asleep.
