Mike's Diary Day 69 - My oh My, such shitty day.

*Last Night*

It was hell of a night I tell you that. After the second flare went off, I saw a horde coming towards our building. I was shocked (not really). Several minutes later, a man trying to run away from those craze, then I was like hey, why not help borther in need right? I started firing, and the others woke up and followed my lead. After a while, all I could see was nothing but an empty road, when all of the sudden, a huge explosion underneath us, then silence. After a waiting game that we have played, someone knocked on the door. I knew it was that man, but I asked anyways. It was Jack! Yes damn right he got my message. He was so busted up, so we decided to treat him ASAP. We immediately poured some alcohol onto his wound, yes, we were about to use that for a molotov, but oh well right.

*Morning*

I just woke up and with this diary I sit writing down some stuff. Everyone is grumpy, Jack is weak, now Julie is approaching towards me.

*10 minutes later*

Julie just told me some jokes because the others are too grumpy she said. See! What did I tell you. I'm thinking that maybe we should go back to base as soon as possible. I don't want the base to get attacksd by Valors before we got back, so I think I'm gonna clear down staira from craze. I'll ask the twins to come with me.

*Before going home*

Yeah, I've packed my shit yesterday, so I don't have to pack it again today. Just sitting on the edge of the roof watching craze pndering around down the road. Man, we're gonna be one of those things. Julie is packing her shit, one handed. What a champ (not trying tp be mean here). Jack seems exhausted still from last night, but I have to admit that that was hell of a run he did. Seems like everyone is ready to go now, I'm going to be on the motorbike of course, with Julie. This ride is awesome. Jack is in the truck with the others feelin' down I believe.

*Evening*

Man that was hell of a ride I'd say, ran over a few craze, and all that "fun" stuff. No, not what you're thinking. I'm sitting on a bench, looking towards the field, with my beer. Jack is soth the doctor, people are doing their business, and Julie just talked to me about random stuff. How her brother died. It's pretty fucked up, I tell you that. Man, it's good to have drama in life too right? Not too much though obviously. Oh, Jack is here.

* 20 minutes later *

Jack told me about his plan about saving the world, yeah right I told him. It's going to be useless, though it's a great idea, but we won't have enough resources to do it, no men strength, it'll bring death upon ourselves. Maybe yeah, after we know that people from other groups are willing to work together, after our faith in humanity has been restored, then yeah I'd do it. I mean there's nothing wrong with thinking big right? Jack seemed upset though when I said that. I changed the subject right away. I asked how Ann is doing, he didn't answer. He had a shock expression, but I didn't bother to ask what's wrong, though he's like my other brother now (well I save him he saves me kind of brother). Again, I changed the subject. I told him that I've been planning strategy to defend ourselves against the valors. He nodded in agreement, but he seemed to have doubts within it. I don't know why, he doesn't want anymore bloodshed maybe? I'm not too sure. I guessed he needed sometimes alone, so I left him, and proceeded to my room when I saw Moses. We talked about how me miss the stuff before this all happened. All I have now is him, I told him. He smiled, and said forgetting someone? I knew he meant Julie. He said that it's very weird how Julie and I can get along. I don't even know myself. Anyways, he left now, and I'm all alone. Julie's now asleep, tired I would say, and now I'm getting tired too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Lexi, you helped me to make it this far. Thank you for that, oh and I met Julie long time ago, just thought you two would make great friends. Oh, it's true that you will always have something to fight, and die for.

Mike's Diary Day 66 - Oopps, WRONG WAY!

I couldn't sleep, so was Julie. I woke up 2 hours earlier and she. It was quite, and I was pretty sure the craze had given up trying to break the door open. I walked over and sat on the edge of the building, trying to get a clear view of possible escape routes, and there were many. The problem is that I don't know how to get down there, with Julie. I don't want to risk anything because our chances of surviving is low. I kept thinking, and I came up with a brilliant idea (50% chance of success). I woke Julie up and told her the plan, and she seemed like she had no trouble with it. "Better than being stuck here." She said. I took out a rope, not more than half a metre long, and I took my uzi out. I switched the magazine with my one and only extended mag, which loaded with 45 bullets (I didn't want to use it). I tied the rope from the trigger to the handle, turned the safety off, and threw it pretty far down to our left. Bullets start flying through the air, making such a magnificent noise pollution, and in the matter of seconds, all craze were running towards it.
"This is it" I said to Julie
                  "Let's do it." She responded.
I unblocked the door, opened it, and with only an axe in one hand, and a machete in the other, I rushed downstairs, while Julie followed. There were only several craze left in the building, which Julie and I took care of no problem. After we got out, Julie and I just kept on running towards the forest, we didn't stop one bit. I had a feeling that it will not only attract hordes, but only other survivors. I didn't want to encounter any, so Julie and I forced ourselves to run, even when our legs almost couldn't take it anymore. After we made sure that we were safe, we sat down for a minute or two. Julie was exhausted, and so was I. After we had enough resting time, we decided to continue our way back to base, but I didn't know in which part of the forest we were, so I decided to climb the tree and try to get an advantage point; however, we were getting nowhere. The view was blocked by other trees, which made it really hard for me to even see what's near our position. This is just great.
                    "Ha, we're lost" I said
                    "Good fucking job." She said
"Hey, I'm sorry that I had to make sure that we were safe, and get as far away from the city as possible." I said.
"Could do it without the sarcasm." She responded
Great, now what? I asked myself. I think our only way is to find our way back to the city and go back home from there. There's nothing to worry about now at least because the place is quite, so that we can listen to any movements or noise made by animals, craze, or people. However; I only have my handgun and a molotov left, so I don't know how we're going to fight back in a firefight. I hoped down from the tree, and checked our loots.
"Hey, we made a good run in only 2 days " I said
                     "What do we got?"
"Medicine, med-kits, canned food, water, matches, ropes, sweaters, t-shirts, books, and toys."
"Yeah, ain't we make a good team?" She said
                     "Sure. I guess."
"Awhhh C'moonnn. You should stop being so serious." She said
I opened 2 canned food and handed one to her, best one we had in a while, considering we didn't eat yesterday. I finished the canned food in less than 5 minutes, and so did she. We wanted another one, but I told Julie and myself that we should reserve that for later, and that we should start budgeting what we gather, and what we use. The evening approaches softly, Julie and I decided to get to the top of the tree to sleep in one of the branches, and tied ourselves to the trunk. Julie climbed up to the branch above me, and is staring right now at things, while I'm doing this. Yeah, we will try to find a way back to the city from here tomorrow, and hope that we will have a ride that we can use to get back to base. Our backpacks are getting heavy with loots, and a carrier wouldn't hurt.

Mike's Diary, Day 64 - The Struggle

I was awoken from my sleep this morning to bird-calls. I looked to my right, Julie was still sleeping and tied to the tree. I woke her up
"Good morning Julie." I said to her
"Morning. Don't we need to go back to base?"
"Yeah, I'll walk you, then I'll go off on my way again."
           "Why?" She asked
           "The base needs some supplies."
"4 eyes are better than 1. I'm not leaving you."
I looked at her and nodded. We untied ourselves, and we proceed our way down the tree. I packed the rope, so did Julie. I led the way into the suburbs with her, for the whole trip it was quite, until there's a horde. I could see from a distant that the stores are near, but there were too many craze around. It was too dangerous. I ducked down, and told Julie to do so too. We sneaked around the horde, through a small alley way. There was only one door, but it's locked. Julie poked me from the back
"Mike, are you sure we're safe?"
"As long as we don't make a loud noise." I responded
I tried to break the lock open, but it was almost impossible without beating it with my crowbar. Instead, I decided to distract the horde first.
"Here Mike, boost me up." Julie whispered to me.
            "What? Why?"
"So I can distract them. I'm going to throw something to the other direction so you can open the                     door."
"Are you sure you wanna do this?" I asked.
"Yes, hurry." She answered. I boosted her up the wall, and I ducked back down.
             "Be careful." I said
             "Huh, when am I not?"
She got up to the roof and threw bottles in the other direction. The horde followed. Once Julie gave a a signal, I started beating on the lock. I struggled, but eventually I opened the door. I told Julie to come down, I pushed a garbage bin towards the wall so she could step down and get off of the roof, when I was about to go in, Julie yelled.
"Mike! Behind you!" I looked back, and the craze was already on top of me.I held it's had with my strength, using one hand, and using the other to grab my knife from my back pocket, but before I did so, Julie was already on its back and stabbing it's head and neck with her shank.
"Should've stayed up the roof." I said
"You almost got your ass eaten." She responded with attitude. Now that her scream has alerted the horde, they were rushing towards us, screaming. I went inside the room with Julie, closed the door and blocked it with whatever heavy furniture that the house had.We were panicking, Julie and I were trying to figure a way out when I remembered that I still have those molotovs. However, there's no chance for me to use it since we were surrounded by the horde. I looked at Julie
"There's only one way." I said
              "I'm not leaving you."
"No. I'm leaving you." I said again. I gave my uzi to her, and extra ammo.
"You must wait here. I'll take the molotovs with me and distract them. I'll come back for you." I said.
"You know I only have one hand right?" Julie said while smiling at me
"Yeah, I'll come back." I chucked with her. I walked towards the window, took a double take on Julie, then she said something.
"Mike, be careful." I think she was about to cry, I nodded. I opened the window, went outside and told Julie to lock the window again. I ran while screaming to lure the horde. Man, they were fast. I ran for at least 10 minutes, and they were still following me. I looked back, and I threw my first molotov. BOOM, set them in flames. I continued running, just to encountered more of them. I decided  to go inside a building and threw my last molotov, and I disappeared from the horde's sight. I went to the second building, the house which Julie is in is visible from my floor, and I could see Julie from there. I went outside to the roof in the evening trying to signal here that I was fine, but she didn't notice me. There were only five craze left downstairs (approximately). If I could be stealth enough, I could kill them and get out of here as soon as possible, I thought to myself. I started to make my way downstairs, every step was my chance of survival. I ducked down once I got to the bottom floor. It's weird, in the evening, some of them just stood there, especially when there's no light. They looked like someone who stand sleeping. I approached the first craze near the stairs, stabbed it right in the head twice with my knife, and the rest didn't react. I was confused for a second, maybe there are different species of mutants? I don't know. I didn't take any chances. I opened the door and ran back to where Julie is. Once I arrived, I could see that she was ready with the uzi. I knocked on the window, and Julie opened it. This night, I covered all windows with wooden planks, right before I write this journal. I also told Julie that I was on the north east building, and that I could see her from there, but her respond was
"Of course I didn't see, I was trying my best to not get distracted. I want to live."
We didn't eat at all today, the hunger overcame me as I write, that's why I'm going to sleep now, and scavange more stuff tomorrow. We didn't even get the chance to look what goods does this house have.

Mike's Diary - Day 62 Long Story Short.

I had a little argument with Jack yesterday, it didn't turn out that good. He probably hates me that I keep delaying our departure back home. Last night, he passed out, so I told the kids to escort him into his tent and told Ann to keep an eye on him.
This morning I woke up, no one was awaken just yet, as always. I went by myself, to gather more gasoline, alone (bad habbit never goes away I guess.) I brought a pipe with me so I can extract the gasoline from cars into my gas tank. I saw craze pondered around, but I didn't want to attack it. There's just simply no point in doing so. I did this so that we have fuel for our non-stop trip back. I didn't want to delay anything anymore, especially after Jack. After a while, I had 6 tanks filled with gasoline, but I had to figure out how to bring them back to the group. Some crazy things revolved around my head.
I took put a rope from my bag and tied all the gasoline tanks together, next the rope still had about 3 metres left to it which I decided to tied it to the craze. I lured the craze, ran around it and made a knot around its body and looked at it from 4 metres away. It tried to run towards me, but held back by the tanks, so all it did was slowly pulling all six tanks. Wow, never I felt accomplished some crazy, yet smart thing like this before. I slowly walked back to the group, and at the distance I could see everyone was packing their stuff, but Julie and Jack were yelling "Find Mike". Oh wow, I walked towards them
"Going all alone again?!" Jack shouted
"I just thought your sorry ass need some gasoline for a non-stop trip back." I said while laughing. His face was expressionless, almost mad, but when they saw what I did to the craze, they (including Jack) started giggling.
"You crazy little shit." Jack said, I killed the craze and told others to load the tanks into the pickup trucks. Julie swore at me and asked why I keep going alone like this, and when I was about to respond, Jack walked pass us and said
              "That's Mike for you."
              "he said it." I added.
We packed up, but before we went, I talked to Jack about yesterday. He told me what happened and all, tough stuff to deal with. I asked how his arm was, but it was stil the same, numb. I told him that Moses has a doctor back at base, in hope that he'll be cheered up a little. I also added that he'll be the farmer he has always wanted  (for shit and giggles). After the talk, we went off our way.

********Fast Forward************

Here we are, it took us 29 hours of non-stop driving to get back. I honked and they opened the gates, people were waiting for us cheering as if we were soldiers who survived hell. My brother though, looked very confuse, we went with only 6 people and came back a village. I parked the car, hugged my brother in cheers, doctors surrounded the wounds (including Jack), and the kids were offered food and goods. I walked into my so called "office" and my brother and I had a talk.
"I'm sorry but we just started war with a group called valors." I said
               "Tell me what happened"
**story** I cried when I got to depart where Lexi dies. My brother understood.
"I'll be here, we'll be here ready to fight." My brother said.
               "Thanks." I responded.
"We'll have a meeting, tomorrow, you're in charge."
I know this sounds very weird, but I thought I won't put Jack in this one due to his condition. He's just unable to do it. After the conversation was done, my brother left, and now it's just me and my diary in my office. I am writting this is actually for people who might find this diary when I died. Hey, 62 days, I'm still alive, a good sign? I wouldn't think too much about it.

Mike's diary - day 52 ''Smells like Shit, literally''

long story short, I saw a truck (Jack's truck was parked right on the road.) and sneaked up to the driver seat and just wait for another 5 minutes also when suddenly the group reappears everybody hoped in and the rest is just a quite trip. Jack is looking outside the window, everyone else was asleep.
     "why did you come back?"
"Don't want to be in charge of the group" he said quietly while chuckling, I chuckled too.
     "Glad you speak now."He said.
     "Me too."
I continue to drive until I see an abandoned liquor store. I told Jack to stay in the truck while I search for some beer and wine. I go back to the car with a six pack of BudLights and two red wine bottles. I gave Jack a can and we cheers to the new group, New beginning, and new year. We have forgotten about New year, I just can't believe it. We drink, then continue the journey.
"Are you sure you don't want Julie to stay?" Jack asked, but I didn't answer. Instead, I took a deep breath, and shrugged. he then continues to look at the passenger window.
"Glad to have you back Mike. Jack is having that time of the month thing." Julie said in a sleepy voice.
"Knock it off, give the guy some slack Lexi." I say
"Who?" she responded, but it goes quite.
"Go back to sleep you little shit." Jack says
"see Mike!" she responds and goes back in the trunk.
I swear that that was the most awkward and uncomfortable moment in my life. Jack looked at me sympathetically, but I didn't notice him. I continue to drive, thirty, fourth, sixty miles North until I get tired, then I switch with Jack. This is the first time in the history when drinking and driving is legal. he continues to drive us north until the highway is blocked and some sort. We got off, and Jack wakes everybody up.
"There's only one way guys, the sewers." I say,
"Awh man." Victor whines, and the others blank out in disbelief. we unpacked everything and off we go into the sewer. the smell I can't stand, smells like shit, literally. We are walking very careful and steady when I slip and go right into the puddle of 'you know what'. I get up but unable to walk, sprained my ankle I guess.
"I'm not supporting you unless you change." Jack says, while he gives his sweater to me. I took off my shirt and put his hoodie on. Then he supports me, we decided to stop and build a camp there, yes in a sewer. I'm inside, it's Jack and Victor's turn to patrol. Worse thing is that I'm catching cold, and later fever. Ann and Jess look for medicine, and Julie looks after me in the tent. Man, the trip has to be delayed until I get better. If I get better, but from now on, we might have to try our best to live in these crappy, smelly, hot, and disgusting sewers.

Day 44 - "No Ride Home" - Mike's Diary

I sat in the tent with Jessie, Victor, and Lexi, waiting for Jack doing his "business" with the raider outside. He peeked his head into tent and signaled me that he was done. I went outside just to looked at the woman died, laid on the street. I walked up to the body and dragged, then dumped it in the ravine right across. I walked back towards Jack and stood there
"You're a fucking monster. Should've just put a bullet through her head. You didn't need to torture her." I said, and he said nothing. I told him to get the others and pack up everything, I folded the other tents, and said "We're Walking." Everyone looked very upset about the situation, but we can't waste any time. So off we go, we started walking along the road single file, Me, Victor, Lexi, Jessie, and Jack at the very back. I was wondering whether we have to cut through the forest or follow the road.
"We take the road, more craze, but more chance of getting a new vehicle. We cut through the forest, safer, but no ride. Take a vote." I said. Jessie, and Jack voted forest but the three of us voted the road, so we continued with our journey.
4 hours have passed, and we finally found an abandoned RV, and I decided to open a camp there and to stay for the night. I told Jack to keep a look out and get on top of the RV, and Victor keep a look out on the ground while the rest of us are taking a break inside the tents. I'm writing this journal, the night is silence, no wind, no signs of life, and no conversation was made for the rest of the day. The birds, crows, gawks, then it the night stays silent once again.

Mike's Diary - Day 38th Just Another Day in Paradise

After that long journey that we had to make yesterday, we were exhausted (mentally and physically). I ended up staying at the base, it doesn't feel so good just staying in this small, dirty, dusty room with cracked windows that are covered by wooden boards. I want to help the others, but my body is telling me not to.
I get up out of my bed staggering, my whole body is shaking. I walk outside into a hallway covered with gray walls, dull, and dead, and I put much effort to go to Jack's room and see how he's doing. He was still asleep so I just left a note for him on his nightstand beside the mini lamp. "I'm sorry for making you promise something that's almost impossible. I just care a lot about Lexi and I didn't want her or you to get hurt. Thank you, go get some rest and keep the area safe, we're running out of supplies so I figured on going alone, hence we need more people to help out with base and our barricades. Go meet my brother Moses, he'll tell you what to do. One more thing, don't tell Lexi that I'm going alone, I don't want her to be in any danger. - Mike"
I walk then to Lexi's room and she's not in it, then I heard footsteps in the hallway. It's Jess, she was just wanted to tell me that Lexi is going to the barn with the other kids, so I left. I took a dagger with me, a water bottle, backpack, a handgun with a suppressor attached to it, and a spare clothing. I went with Madison (my favourite horse of all in the barn) and off I go to scavenge for more supplies. There is something odd today, the road is really quite, no signs of craze, the wind breeze blows across my face, when suddenly I see fire burning down a building (how? I thought to myself). I rush towards it, and I saw an old guy trying to get away from the craze. As I approached him, he sees me and asks for help, so I did.
After the perimeter was clear, I pointed my gun at this guy, and asked
"Did you get bite?"
"No" he said, "I swear to my mother's grave."
"Tell me your story!" I demanded
"I got separated from the group" (who would've thought. I think to myself ), then he continued "I swear, do you have a base? Mind if I join your group?"
"You do anything stupid, this gun will be up your mouth. Yes I do have a group, what does that mean? more stomach to feed since I just met another survivor few days ago."
"What's his name?" he asked
"Why do you care?"
"Jack."
"You know him? Well this about to get real interesting. I'll ask Jack who you really are, I don't believe you truly yet." I said.
We took off then with Madison back to our camp, everything went very smoothly when suddenly the road that was empty now is blocked by tons of craze. I tried going around and it didn't work, and I started to worry. I tried to distract them and so I could find alternate alley ways, they were also blocked. I'm going to be out of base for a night, I hope they won't worry too much about me. I took a long way down town with this guy, his name is Keral, and we made a camp.
"Let's go back to base tomorrow" I said
"No need to hurry, your name?"
"Michael. I go with Mike."
"So how many of you are in that base?"
"You'll see it tomorrow. Now we have to go on a shift, 4 hours sleep, 4 hours guard."
"I'll guard first." He said
I didn't say anything, half of my heart is doubting it but half is saying that I should get some rest, so I decided to take a rest for 4 hours. I just hope people at base don't try to find me, I don't want them to worry too much especially my brother and Lexi.

Mike's Diary Day 36 Sept 18th - New Recruit Jack

I couldn't sleep last night, I was hunted by an unpleasant feeling; It felt like another storm of raids are going to hit our base. Off I go outside our base, the breeze, the smells of grass, and the full moon makes everything so gloomy and dead. I figured that we are low on painkillers and first aid kits, so off I go to the closest pharmacy I could find. I'm going alone, because everyone is asleep; Halfway across the bridge, I heard screams from the main entrance of the city, without thinking any longer I rushed to where the source of the noise comes from. I saw a group of people, 2 guys 1 girl were being cornered by these fuckers. I didn't know what to do, but then I remember that I brought some molotovs along with me. I light them up, then threw it to the crowds; I saw a guy running towards me, sadly only him who survived in this horrible night. He said "Thank you, name is Jack", "I'm Mike, now come help me gather some painkillers. I need you to guard the door.". This was supposed to be a one man mission, but then it became 2. Gathered some stuff, I was distracted by all of these drugs that I need to take when suddenly the door bursts open. "Shit! Run!" Jack said, we were overran by craze and cutters so I took off with him through the back door; It was a close call, thank you to him the new recruit.

Day 19, July 15th 2013 - Reunion.

12:10 AM

"MIKE HELP !", I heard Lexi's scream, woke up and rushed outside. I saw Lexi was using her bow and I also saw Jess and Greg. I grabbed my baseball bat and  took the craze down one by one of course with the help of Jess and Lexi. "This is your camp huh?" Lexi asked them. "Yes" Jess said, "we almost fucking raid it." I said. Jess thanked me and said sorry and all that about what happened at her house. She asked me what happened, and I told her I broke my ankle, passed out, and Lexi took care of me, and so on. We sat down and ate our deer meet that we had left cuz it was starting to rot. Here we are in the jungle on our way to Toronto again. Victor, I thought, my other cousin. He lived with my brother, but moved 2 months before this happened, perhaps he knows where he is. So I told the group we're heading west now to Manitoba. We packed up and did a vote, either we go through the jungle, wet, dirty, safer, shelters are easy to find, and hunt for food, or city, not so safe, scavenge for canned food and weapons, and the possibility of cars. "So?" I said, "city?". "I'm not going anywhere without you Mike." Said Lexi, "City it is." Jess responded. We went out of the jungle to an open road, we decided to rest in one of the car, 1 guard the rests sleep and so on. I'll try to Hotwire a car tomorrow to get going.

Day 18, July 14th 2013 - Easy Today.

12:32 AM

We decided to gather everything we could today and continue for our journey. We as usual looted some houses and stores for food or weapons. Or even survivors, "Can you whistle?" She said, "well that was random, and yeah. Why?" I said, "well I can't." She kept bothering me the whole day by doing that weird blowing sound that people make when they can't whistle properly. After a long walk we decided to stop at some drugstore and went in. When we were inside boom, craze of course, what else do you expect? A cute fucking puppy? I only wish. "Try your bow and arrow. Right in the head." I said, and she did it ! One shot thats all she took. I nudged her head proudly, "good job kiddo." Then I went and took the other 2 out. I asked her to wait for me outside while I searched the drugstore, nothing was there, so we decided to continue the long walk. "Do you know anything about the rebels?" I said, "yeah my parents were in it. Don't even bother to ask where they at. Last time I saw them, they were heading to the military base in Quebec." She responded. I saw a smoke, so we followed. We went to some small campsite but no one was there, I was about to go in but Lexi convinced me not to and just watch the camp from several distance, so we did. We waited there for so long, but no one came so we decided go into this tree. Right, inside it, theres room for two, so we think we're going to spend the night there. Today was an easy day for us, and Lexi proved me she can "kinda" handle herself.

Day 17, July 13th 2013 - She's a Pretty Good Shot !

1:21 AM

I woke up this morning, soup was on my side, water, and some tylenols. I looked around me, barbwires everywhere. "LEXI?" I yelled, but no answers. I'm starting to get worried, I try to stand up and walk, though I'm still limping. I yelled her name once again. God, where are you kiddo?. I walk outside with my shotgun, and follow the footsteps. Fuck, a craze, so I walked around it, cuz I don't think I could take him in this condition. The footsteps led me to an alley way, so I followed. When I walked out the alley way, a fucking arrow went right in front of my god damn nose. "Holy fuck." I aimed my shotgun at her. "Mike! She yelled." She said "I'm sorry I thought you were something else. Holy shit." She ran up to me and hugged me. "I was so scared Mike." Said she. "I know Lexi, I know." I said. I asked her how did she find the bow and arrow, but then she responded "why didn't you tell me you HAD a bow and arrows?" , fair enough I guess, "who taught you how to use it?" I said, "myself.", "Let me see?", "sure." She holds the bow, puts the arrow on the string, pulls it, and lets go, of course she missed. "Fuck." She said, "haha. You suck.", "thanks." Se responded. "Here." I said, I took the bow and arrow and I fired it, "Bulls eye." Right on target. "Here." I decided to teach her how to use it properly, she deserves it. "Your welcome." She said, "for what?", "drugs, food, taking care of you. I almost got my ass eaten by those fuckers.", "Thanks." I said. "Hold the bow. STRAIGHT.", "geez, cranky much." She said. "Yeah whatever,  put the arrow, on the left side of the bow until you hear a click." *click* "very good, now aim but not like aiming guns. Close your right eye instead of your left. And now two fingers on top of the tip of the arrow on the string and one under it.", I held her arms so it stays straight."Straight." I said. "Okay okay!", "now pull the string, keep your elbow points upwards and pull until your thumb touches the bottom of your chin, and when let go, keep your holding arm straight still or you're gonna make the arrow flies somewhere else.", I waited "release when ready." She did it, bulls eye, it went through the sand bag. "Good job Lexi", "thanks ! High five!" She said. Yeah I gave her that one. "Thanks Mike.",  no problem.", "about your brother, what should we do after we found him?", "We go and join the government's forces." We walked back to the garage. "What if they're all dead?", "I don't know Lexi, let's hope not." I said. We decided to take a break from that practice and I think I'm ready to go tomorrow. Who knows what happened to Greg and Jess, hopefully they're still alive. I decided to eat my soup and drank some meds. Lexi is now drawing or writing who knows what. I'm proud of her.

Day 9, July 5th 2013, 10:24 AM

I woke up this morning, well Lexi woke me up. "I'm so fucking hungry, do we have deer meat left?" she asked. Yes we did, so I woke up and got out of the car. I told my cousin to make a fire so we all could eat breakfast. I went to the nearest lake just to refill our water bottle, it was peaceful but always, craze are around. We chatted for a while then we continued our  journey, by car now. My cousin was driving, I was navigating him, and Lexi was just there, doing nothing really. We got to the border between Ottawa and Montreal but it was blocked by vehicles lots of them. We stopped and we walked instead of driving, we went around, took the nature way I guess. This time, no craze nor cutter, our hope was high. We thought the military base was near so we kept on going. We took a little rest, drank some water, and continue our walk. Lexi was walking around the branches and she slipped, so we all laughed, big deal. We need some humour nowadays. "Why don't you cry like other little girls?" My cousin asked. "I'm tough, unlike those other wuss." she said. True say, this kid made it this far, she fought hard. We went into this one huge gate but then it was locked from the inside. It didn't look right to me, we decided to boost Lexi in to open the door for us. Well she asked us to do that so we did. "Be careful" I said, "Don't worry". We went in and guess what we saw? An abandoned fucking army base. Looked like it got over run, or raided. But how? We had no idea. We went in the buildings and its empty, no guns, no lootables, no food, no nothing. We got all upset, my cousin was fulfilled with rage and Lexi was there sitting, doing nothing. Thinking perhaps? I don't know. "We gotta make this right. Let's just find everything we could use and get some rest here. The sun is almost out." Even though something happened to the base, at least there are no craze in here. We gotta start find some clues of where the military is heading tomorrow, but tonight we are going to get rested up for the night.

Day 8, July 4th 2013 - That Negotiation Went Well

10:12 PM

I woke up early this morning, you know wanna give them some breakfast surprise. Grabbed everything I needed, my shotgun, and my baseball bat. I walked pretty far, but I left some marks so I could go back to our camp. It was quite and peaceful in the morning, some craze are still around but I don't really give a shit at that moment. I walked a bit further then I saw a lake, not only that there was also a deer. A fucking deer dude, it's like 6 days meals. I thought, I gotta get this deer but how? I didn't know how to kill it. If I shoot it, the loud bang is gonna wake the craze and I'll ended up getting my ass beat. I sneaked up on the deer but when I was this close and I was about to swing my baseball bat, that animal ran. I followed the track, not too far from where I was then I saw the deer, this time it's lying down under the shades. Still didn't know  how to get it, I thought if I shoot this thing really close, I might be able to reduce the noise of the gun. So I sneaked up on it and I stuck my barrel to it's chest and boom. Not a damn noise came out, I was so happy. Now we all can feast. I tied the horn to a vine and pulled it along the way. I got to our campsite and saw everything was a mess. Those fuckers holding Lexi and my cousin as hostiles. Both of them were armed with vest and a machete and revolver on the other. I thought this was the end of it, I decided to negotiate with those guys. Walked slowly to them, we talked and talked and talked. I didn't wanna give the deer either, then luck was on my side this time. A craze walked towards him while I distracted is ass with stupid negotiations. The craze bit him and sank it's teeth in his neck and I quickly grabbed my shot gun and shot the other raider. Then lastly, bashed the walker with my baseball bat. Man I didn't know what was gonna happen to my cousin and Lexi if I wasn't there on time. I was terrified. We looted them, couple shots to the heads just to make sure they're dead, then we threw the bodies into a ditch and we enjoyed our deer, freshly cooked. Again we feasted, joked around and just got to know each other a little more. After that, we decided to leave the forest, through some more horde of craze but we didn't wanna deal with it so we just sneaked behind them. Finally after a full day of walk we got out of that forest. We are still far away from Quebec, but we'll get there eventually. We found a car, that is not locked luckily, some fuel, and my cousin hot wired it. It worked, and he drove us until the fuel ran out and we stuck in the middle of this highway. I'm too tired, and since there are cars in the highway that we are on right now we might be able to suck the fuel in them and use it. I was about to give up but then I saw this red haired, blue eyed, little girl who is so cheery and sweary and all that, that's what motivated me. That what keeps me going, Lexi and my brother is the reason why I try this hard.Well no matter what happened, we all always have things that we want to fight for.

Day 7, July 3rd 2013 - Her Name is Lexi.

9:36 PM

We didn't know where to go, the highway turned out to be a dead end. We couldn't find a way to get pass it. We decided to go down through the forest, perhaps there is a lake that we could cross through to get to the other side. We decided to make a camp in the jungle, when suddenly we got ambushed by other group of survivors. There were 5 of them, they were trying to raid us. Gun shots everywhere, and since we didn't have any guns, we backed away and left our camp. Not too far though because I wanted to know who they were,  my cousin, the girl, and I stuck around for a while. When 3 of them left, there were 2 guys stayed at our camp, so we decided to take our stuff back. The girl said she could distract them while me and my cousin try to sneak up on them, so we did. She did a pretty good job, we just simply choked the two guys and that was that. They had guns on them so we took it, a revolver and a shotgun. Enough for the three of us. I gave the girl my crowbar so I could take shotgun and my cousin took the revolver. We packed everything and loot everything we could from them. We made sure we didn't leave any tracks behind when we leave. Along the way, we talked. She told us her name, Lexi. Her parents were dead I believe and she knew it. She told us about her parents were stuck in the subway station and all that. Then I figured, the letter was about her, I showed it to her, and she kept it. She doesn't seem to mind everything that has been going on. We talked more, walked, and threw some corny jokes at each other. Life was good for a moment, we got tired so we decided to make a camp under a bridge which was full with craze, but we managed to clear them out one by one, quietly. I wouldn't risk any loud noise at this moment. Baseball bats and crowbar is the way to go to not make that much noise. We sat there and do our usual shift. I'm up first the other two are asleep, my cousin keeps talking in his dream, and Lexi? She doesn't seem scared at all. She's like my little sister now, a badass one I know, knowing that there's no one who will be able to take care of her now. I feel sorry for you kiddo, we'll got something to eat tomorrow. I promise.

Day 6, July 2nd 2013 - Found Her

9:32 PM

I'm exhausted, sad, and I don't even know what's going through my mind. I woke my cousin up, we're running low on food and water. We were too exhausted to even continue our journey, but we gotta keep moving. We destroyed our shelter and repacked everything, and after 3 hours of walk, we finally got to a small lake. We refilled our water bottles, and continued with our journey again. We walked and walked and walked then we found a high way. This high way is abandoned, and cars everywhere. I told my cousin to try to at least hot wire them. We broke the window and then, the alarm goes off. We're fucked I thought, craze are everywhere coming towards the car. We didn't know where to go so we decided to go under cars, and prayed so that they won't find us. We sneaked from cars to cars, and when we got away a little bit more, we decided to blow the cars up. That way, we can at least try to go on foot through the highway. Boom, huge explosions, fun, kinda. It's been along time that me and my cousin barely laugh or even smile. After a while and seeing no craze, we decided to walk on foot, when suddenly we heard something from the bush. We crouched, and all of the sudden, a little girl showed up. My cousin and I backed up and asked her if she was bitten. Turned out that she was fine, only some scrapes and blood, but no bite marks. We gave her water and some gauze to fix her. Fuck, that girl scared the fuck out of me. She looked like she has been surviving alone all this time, only her and her backpack. But how? She's pretty badass I must say, she swears a lot though. I asked her how old she is and she said she was only 13. Okay, so we got another member after we lost Boomer the other day, but I haven't talked much with her since we were too busy trying to walk on the highway without getting noticed by craze. We got to this place, I don't know, some sorta abandoned electric panel. There was no one nor craze so we decided to take a rest there. We made a little shelter, now she guards us and so on, the shift continues. She doesn't look scared at all, I don't know why or how. She had a radio with her and we were listening to it. The government, finally. They said that the military made a base in Quebec, but in order to go in there, we must be checked for bite marks or any signs that show that we're the rebels. Rebels ? I thought, what does it mean? No one knows until now who and what the rebels are, what they do and how many are there. All we want to do know is just to survive another day without losing any of our member(s) again. It's been along week for me. For all of us, and tomorrow we gotta start to hit our way into the city again to loot some food, and weapons and all the necessary needs for all of us. And this girl, we gotta keep her safe. She kinda reminds me with my cousin which I don't know where she is now. Dead? Hopefully not. I still need to find my brother too, hope he survives this hell.

Day 5, July 1st 2013

Another day we survived, the outside of the store was clear so we could sneak out and continued our journey. We decided to go through the forest instead of the city. My life, our lives are miserable right now. Lacking on water. We were walking when suddenly I got attacked from the back by a runner, it was about to sunk its teeth in my neck when suddenly Boomer jumped to it and bit it's fucking neck and killed it. Now, he's infected. I stayed there for a while, clueless and was looking at my cousin. That dog's face, looking at right into my eyes. I didn't know what to do, so I left it with my cousin. He killed him. We buried it's body and, that was it. Boomer is gone. Forever.  So now we decided to walk through the forest and hoping we could find a highway, we just lost one of our member and I'm too fucking tired having to deal with this world every single day.
