Report and Other Stuff

Sorry the story's been put on hold. The writer for Mike is having some major problems with his computer (that thing really needs to see a doctor or therapist or something...). It's fixed, but he still needs to reinstall some stuff so it may take some time.

As for something entertaining, I would highly suggest checking out this game called "The Last Stand - Union City" if you haven't already.

http://armorgames.com/play/12009/the-last-stand-union-city

Probably one of the best 2D zombie games you'll ever play or at least in the top ten. There's a variety of weapons to pick from, tons of useless and useful to collect, zombies to kill, story, and lock picking. So much lock picking!

And to send you off with a poem

There once was a zombie from Brazil,
Who wanted to eat his fill.
He entered a hotel and approached the clerk,
And left with a full stomach, a cool hat, and a smirk.

Ah, Here we Go Again - Day 76 Mike's Diary

*noon*

The chains, oh. That. I didn't notice more like had no clue of what was being chained until Jack showed Moses and I what really is being chained. I was nervous, and yeah the Valors have just won. I can predict it.
When we were standing in silence, Moses quickly grabbed his rifle and was about to head out when Jack stopped him. Jack had all the rights to do so. It's for Moses' own knowledge that that monster can't be killed with only one rifle. The basement came into a deep silence again.
"We've got three options, leave the base, find a way to kill it, or..", "Give julie up" said Jack.
My instinct kicked in, and the word "No" was the first thing that came out of my mouth.
We discussed about what will we decide, so Moses and I decided to go back and discuss it with the group.

Moses and I gathered and met a brief meeting.
We did a vote, and surprisingly, people decided to stand their ground and fight. They wouldn't give Julie up either, for she's part of the family. They said that giving up Julie will only make us weaker, and one of the guys said "We're getting bullied here, so I wouldn't give up and wouldn't give fuckers anything except hundreds of bullets." Good enough for me. After the meeting, I told the people to stay until we have the battle plan. Moses came right up to me, and told me to plan everything, but I insisted to give the opportunity away to Jack. For he is good at it, and can be better if we give him sometimes to practice more. By doing this, Jack will know what to do, and what not to do during battle, and his regrets will forever make him a batter thinker when it comes down to a battle plan.

*Evening*

We got back to Jack and told everyhting, and also that he's in charge of the battle plan.
Jack quickly grabbed the paper and explained to us what he will do. First, he directed a couple of men to scout the area to get an idea of where the men who are responsible for bringing the monster to our base. Great idea, the second or third? Not so much. See if I was him, I would've thought that we know our base more than they do. Facing them upfront is useless unless we have very powerful gun powers. I would cut the chain of the monster of and lead it away, and let the rest of the guys strategically battling the valors inside the base, since Valors are not familiar with our are, but that's just me. The attack began, and surprisingly, we were the ones who initiated the attack instead of the Valors themselves. We did everything we could to make the monster fall to its knees, but nothing happened. He's too strong for human power to be taken down, unless we swarm it. When we were busy, the Valors didn't do anything (Rookie mistake), but it's a grace given by God to us, or else we all would've died. The sirens started going off, oh my oh my. I decided to get the twins to turn them off because the sirens are attracting more craze than what we could ever imagine. I see, the monster is annoyed by sirens. I should have that on my check-list. The monster is still there, struggling, but the men and I decided to end it. I rushed towards it, dodging it's blade, and tried my best to cut its blade off, while the other men were bashing on its face and legs. Took us about 20 minutes, but that'll do. We have finally taken it down, but at the end...
We decided to leave base to prevent future attacks by the Valors. We packed everything up, and were ready to leave to find our new base.

*Night*
Long story short, we have walked for 3 hours straight, and still no encounters with the Valors (A good thing). I now have an idea of what base we're looking for our next stop. Tree houses base. We just gotta walk another mile, and I will tell everyone about the plan. I have so many things that I want to tell them that perhaps can help make their lives full of peace. We'll see tomorrow, but tonight, we're here digging a half of a meter deep hole for us to sleep in peacefully with 10 people patrolling for 5 hours shift.

Mike's Diary Day 58 - Last Day

This is it I thought, one more day before we arrive at Valor's base. I want to keep my promise, but sat the same time I don't want Julie to go with the Valors.
I woke up the next morning, everyone was still asleep, I went out to prepare our breakfast. Not so fancy, but filling. I cooked, and boiled some water, and Jack approached me. Yeah, he just woke up.
"What happened last night? with Ann?"
            "I don't know."
"Well, I think you should really find out what really happened to her before she joined us." I said. I was still boiling the water when I heard cracking noise from behind us. Jack and I turned around and saw a guy running away. So he's the one who has been watching us all this time. Jack and I looked at each other for a milisecond, and we dashed towards the man right away. We were running, and running, and running, just like what they do in the Olympics. Jack raised his hand gun and threatened the guy that he would shoot if through guy disn't stop. Bang, Jack fired and hit him right in the leg. He fell down and we caught up. Jack gave the guy a blow to the face with his fist and questioned the guy, while I gathered what he had in his backpack. After he was done, Jack came back to me and said that the guy is a lone adventurer, and that he didn't mean any harm to us. I know that Jack didn't believe him, and so did I, but I decided to give him a chance to tag along, with hands tied behind his back, and with Jack as his guard so he doesn't do anything stupid. We walked back to camp, and everybody was already awaken, and was proceeding to eat the breakfast without Jack and I. Once they saw the figure, their faces looked worried, understandable. Jack tied the guy to the tree where I tied Julie before, and Jack asked for his name (I don't know because I wasn't ear-dropping). Jack walked back to the group and told them what he told me.
"He better not fucking things up." Julie said.
"Oh now you're back from a whiny kid to Julie." I responded.
"Shutup, you're not the one whose arm got chopped off."
Everyone chuckled and continued their chatting.
"Look Julie, this is your last day with us. Do you have anything to say?" I asked her, "Thanks guys for everything." She responded. She seemed sad, everybody noticed this, and they looked at me. Even Jack stared. I didn't know what to do, I mean as much as I'd love Julie to come with us, we better have a good reason to do so. After breakfast, we decided to pack up and continue our journey. The order was me, the 'guy', Jack, Jess, Julie, Ann, and Victor, making a single fIle line. We walked for hours, stopped for minutes, then continued. The valor's place isn't that far ahead, and I started to see the opening path from the first to highways and suburbs. We walked out, and there was a road sign that has been scratched up and rewritten 'Valor's base. Can be your saviour, or your death.' I guess that's it. I continued to walk, leading the group where we stopped right beside a liquor store. The huge dorm (fortress) is visible from where we were at, and I was pretty sure that that is the base. Since everyone had no energy left, we decided to go into the liquor building. Ann, once again ran inside without noticing any danger, but thank God Julie was able to chased her down, and got the hold of her. We saw 4 craze which takes no more than a whack in he head. We unpacked, set the tent so that we are not exposed by anything that is potentially dangerous, and sat down in a circle. The guy's hands are still tied, we don't trust him just yet. Victor is re-bandaging Julie's arm, Jesse is keeping an eye on the guy, and Jack is arguing with Ann. I don't know what their deals are. I peek, only to see Jack notices me, then he looks uncomfortable. I went back into my tent, bracing myself for what is going to happen tomorrow, and writting this journal.

Mike's diary - day 52 ''Smells like Shit, literally''

long story short, I saw a truck (Jack's truck was parked right on the road.) and sneaked up to the driver seat and just wait for another 5 minutes also when suddenly the group reappears everybody hoped in and the rest is just a quite trip. Jack is looking outside the window, everyone else was asleep.
     "why did you come back?"
"Don't want to be in charge of the group" he said quietly while chuckling, I chuckled too.
     "Glad you speak now."He said.
     "Me too."
I continue to drive until I see an abandoned liquor store. I told Jack to stay in the truck while I search for some beer and wine. I go back to the car with a six pack of BudLights and two red wine bottles. I gave Jack a can and we cheers to the new group, New beginning, and new year. We have forgotten about New year, I just can't believe it. We drink, then continue the journey.
"Are you sure you don't want Julie to stay?" Jack asked, but I didn't answer. Instead, I took a deep breath, and shrugged. he then continues to look at the passenger window.
"Glad to have you back Mike. Jack is having that time of the month thing." Julie said in a sleepy voice.
"Knock it off, give the guy some slack Lexi." I say
"Who?" she responded, but it goes quite.
"Go back to sleep you little shit." Jack says
"see Mike!" she responds and goes back in the trunk.
I swear that that was the most awkward and uncomfortable moment in my life. Jack looked at me sympathetically, but I didn't notice him. I continue to drive, thirty, fourth, sixty miles North until I get tired, then I switch with Jack. This is the first time in the history when drinking and driving is legal. he continues to drive us north until the highway is blocked and some sort. We got off, and Jack wakes everybody up.
"There's only one way guys, the sewers." I say,
"Awh man." Victor whines, and the others blank out in disbelief. we unpacked everything and off we go into the sewer. the smell I can't stand, smells like shit, literally. We are walking very careful and steady when I slip and go right into the puddle of 'you know what'. I get up but unable to walk, sprained my ankle I guess.
"I'm not supporting you unless you change." Jack says, while he gives his sweater to me. I took off my shirt and put his hoodie on. Then he supports me, we decided to stop and build a camp there, yes in a sewer. I'm inside, it's Jack and Victor's turn to patrol. Worse thing is that I'm catching cold, and later fever. Ann and Jess look for medicine, and Julie looks after me in the tent. Man, the trip has to be delayed until I get better. If I get better, but from now on, we might have to try our best to live in these crappy, smelly, hot, and disgusting sewers.

Jack's Diary - Day 45

As Mike drove us in the RV, he suddenly apologized for calling me a monster. I can't say whether or not I was expecting or not expecting that moment to ever be brought up again. I let the accusation involving Jess slip by seeing as even I would question friends in times of uncertainty and now Mike tried to apologize for what he said. I held no hard feeling against him though being called the same derogatory name by a friend that an enemy called me was not a comfort. I also addressed Mike's habit of going out alone and I really hope that it doesn't happen again. As kind as it is to want no harm to come to others, Mike's not a stranger to any of us and none of us would just move on with our lives if he never came back unless we were sure he was dead.
Anyways, while we were talking, Mike didn't see the soulless with a large sword for an arm in the road and yelled for him to watch out. He dodged it, but at the price of the RV flipping over (I kind of pictured a cutter attack happening to us. It's strange how things work out). Mike took the handgun I had out and ran outside to distract the soulless (I know this because a few handgun bullets to the face of this specific soulless wouldn't kill it and Mike knew this as well). I unbuckled myself and went over to Jess who had a bloody mark on her forehead and appeared to be in a daze. While I unbuckled her and helped her outside, Victor had already unbuckled himself and was helping Lexi out. Once everyone was outside, I looked around for Mike and I only saw the soulless walking into the woods.
     "Where's Mike," asked Lexi.
"Be patient. He'll be back soon." I answered. I looked at the RV and I knew that we weren't going to be driving it again: there was no way for us to flip it back over, even with all five of us and gasoline was leaking out of it.
"Victor, let's get our stuff out of the RV. You two stay here and keep a look out for anything that moves and Jess, make sure Lexi doesn't leave."
Out of the corner of my eye, I'm pretty sure I saw Lexi give me an angry grin. When we got everything out, Mike was already running back. We continued down the road on foot.
Mike and the others set up camp and in a near instant, everything seemed to go awry. Victor brought a ukulele and Jess sang some pop song that I didn't recognize, but hated anyway (I was tempted to tell both of them to shut up and keep quiet so as to not attract unwanted attention, but I didn't because I didn't want to be a jerk. I still kept a look out for danger). Mike was busy writing and for some reason unknown to me, Lexi started a conversation (on a bad note).
"You don't trust me, do you?" she asked.
     "Should I?"
"You treat me like a little kid. You asked Jess to make sure I didn't leave. I'm not a kid."
"I never said you were, but that's not the point. The fact is your safety is important to Mike so that means your safety is important to me and Mike probably would've said the same thing."
     "No, he wouldn't."
"That's because he knows you better than I do," I said.
"Yah, that's true... how did you two meet?"
"He saved my life," I answered.
     "How'd he do that?"
I could've kept giving her short responses, but I had a feeling she wanted to know the whole story. I paused for a few seconds, hoping to find the words to explain the story in the least horrible way.
"I was escorting someone back to their father. We had just lost a group who was hunting us and  we were about to head out of the city when we were cornered. Just before they got me, Mike threw some molotov cocktails at the group of soulless that had encircled us, opening up a gap for me to escape. My acquaintances weren't as lucky."
     "Weren't they your friends?"
"I don't think I could call them that. Jane, the one I was trying to get back to her father, spent most of her time talking and cozying up to a guy named Tim so we never got to know either of them and the other one, Duke, is partially responsible for everyone for his and Jane's death. Then again, I should have never let him travel with me."
"I'm sorry that happened. At least you have friends now."
     "True....... for now."
The conversation kind of drifted off at that point. I could see it in her face that she was sad for me and that I'd ruined her night so I changed the subject.
"Do you want to hear about the first and best base I helped built?"
She looked up with intrigue and I told her about the Hill: all of the things we, the members and I, invented, the battles we fought, and the grand base we built. There was a nearby town so once we were settle, we took what we wished and arrange it as we wished. We even managed to build an additional building near the ones that were already standing when we arrived. I dodged the question as to why I wasn't there and in the end, I lied to keep her disposition from going sour. I told her I left to find another base to assist others. I changed the conversation to anything else, but after that, I wasn't paying attention (luckily, we weren't attacked).
I don't usually lie, but if only lies were true. If only the Hill was still around, things would be different. Perhaps not better, but different. At least if I stayed at the Hill, all the death I was involved with may have never taken place. Jane and Tim would still be back at their base, the bases and bases' residents would still be intact, and Duke would still be cowering in the back of a store. I must have killed nearly 100 people and the only good thing to come of killing in large numbers was saving Mike and that old man. It felt wrong and strange to consciously and knowingly kill people when I first started, but now, nothing in my mind changes. From the force of a stab to the pulling of a trigger; it's all as natural as breathing. While Lexi lays asleep tonight, I lay on the cold ground pondering my actions and persona; who am I? Even the faces of those whose death I had a part in no longer torment me. They now turn away in grief, believing that nothing can be done for my life. Even Jane's screams grow silent and the fire darkens, like a campfire burning out. On the night when everyone seemed happy and at peace, I am sorrowful and conflicted. I am not frighten though. I am concerned.
In the morning, we rose, packed up our supplies and continued down the road.

Day 45 - "Hope it Stays this Way"

I can see that Jack is pretty pissed because I called him a fucking monster the other day, and I can't, well we can't keep going until everybody is cool with each other, so of course. I have to man up about it and apologize (I think that's the best thing to do). We drove for miles and miles, and Jack was there sitting in the passenger seat with his gun laid down on his thighs, looking outside the windows.
     "Hey man, look..." I said
Jack looked at me
"I'm sorry for being so harsh, and mouthy with you yesterday. I mean, I just don't like it to see other people getting brutally murdered by that. I understand that you were mad for whatever reason, but c'mon now." I said
     "Yeah, it's cool."
"Why did you do that anyways?"
"Because." He said, and he stopped. I can say right now that he doesn't really want to talk. He was just sitting still looking at the road, and sometimes at the back to make sure everything is fine.
" Look Mike, I've been wanting to tell you this, but you gotta stop putting your own ass in danger. Stop going alone and doing stuff alone like last time." He said to me.
Yeah yeah, I admit it, that is one of my flaws, I don't really want anyone to follow me around sometimes (including Lexi) because I just feel like putting them in danger will cause me more than just my own life.
"Yes. But I just don't want people to follow me around sometimes." I said
"By going alone without saying anything means that you're putting everybody's life in danger because then I gotta look for you, well somebody else might be worried about you. Lexi, Victor, Jessie, your brother. Hey man look, don't get yourself killed. I was panicked too when you were a hostage. We need you, the base needs you. Though I have to say right now that you should be in charge of the whole base, no offense to Moses." He said.
"Couldn't do it without everybody's help, especially you. You've contributed a lot, and I thank you fo-."
     "WATCH OUT!"
I dodged a cutter, and now the RV flipped over. I unbuckled my seat belt and stepped outside the RV as soon as possible.
"Jack go grab the others." I said, he nodded as if he knew that I was going to distract the cutter, then I took his gun.
I ran out, fired his gun into the air distracting the cutter, then I lead him into the jungle. Thank god it's not yet dawn, I can still see what's going on around me. I ran as fast as I could knowing that cutters are pretty slow. I stopped, and hid behind a tree, and the cutter just kept on going. My worry is not getting killed but getting back together with a group. With my sense of direction (I'm pretty good at it) I was able to find my way back to the RV. The gasoline is leaking and there is no way that we're going to use that. It's busted. I figured that if we stay here for the night, the cutter might come back (assuming he knows his directions), so the group and I decided to walk another mile to set up a camp. Now, we are here, in the middle of nowhere, trying to deliver this message to the Valors.
We are sitting down, Victor stupidly brought his ukulele to play, Jessie sings, Jack is chatting with Lexi (Whatever the hell they're talking about), I'm here writing this journal. Everyone's so happy in this hell, I guess because we're all together, and I really hope it stays this way.

Mike's Diary - Day 38th Just Another Day in Paradise

After that long journey that we had to make yesterday, we were exhausted (mentally and physically). I ended up staying at the base, it doesn't feel so good just staying in this small, dirty, dusty room with cracked windows that are covered by wooden boards. I want to help the others, but my body is telling me not to.
I get up out of my bed staggering, my whole body is shaking. I walk outside into a hallway covered with gray walls, dull, and dead, and I put much effort to go to Jack's room and see how he's doing. He was still asleep so I just left a note for him on his nightstand beside the mini lamp. "I'm sorry for making you promise something that's almost impossible. I just care a lot about Lexi and I didn't want her or you to get hurt. Thank you, go get some rest and keep the area safe, we're running out of supplies so I figured on going alone, hence we need more people to help out with base and our barricades. Go meet my brother Moses, he'll tell you what to do. One more thing, don't tell Lexi that I'm going alone, I don't want her to be in any danger. - Mike"
I walk then to Lexi's room and she's not in it, then I heard footsteps in the hallway. It's Jess, she was just wanted to tell me that Lexi is going to the barn with the other kids, so I left. I took a dagger with me, a water bottle, backpack, a handgun with a suppressor attached to it, and a spare clothing. I went with Madison (my favourite horse of all in the barn) and off I go to scavenge for more supplies. There is something odd today, the road is really quite, no signs of craze, the wind breeze blows across my face, when suddenly I see fire burning down a building (how? I thought to myself). I rush towards it, and I saw an old guy trying to get away from the craze. As I approached him, he sees me and asks for help, so I did.
After the perimeter was clear, I pointed my gun at this guy, and asked
"Did you get bite?"
"No" he said, "I swear to my mother's grave."
"Tell me your story!" I demanded
"I got separated from the group" (who would've thought. I think to myself ), then he continued "I swear, do you have a base? Mind if I join your group?"
"You do anything stupid, this gun will be up your mouth. Yes I do have a group, what does that mean? more stomach to feed since I just met another survivor few days ago."
"What's his name?" he asked
"Why do you care?"
"Jack."
"You know him? Well this about to get real interesting. I'll ask Jack who you really are, I don't believe you truly yet." I said.
We took off then with Madison back to our camp, everything went very smoothly when suddenly the road that was empty now is blocked by tons of craze. I tried going around and it didn't work, and I started to worry. I tried to distract them and so I could find alternate alley ways, they were also blocked. I'm going to be out of base for a night, I hope they won't worry too much about me. I took a long way down town with this guy, his name is Keral, and we made a camp.
"Let's go back to base tomorrow" I said
"No need to hurry, your name?"
"Michael. I go with Mike."
"So how many of you are in that base?"
"You'll see it tomorrow. Now we have to go on a shift, 4 hours sleep, 4 hours guard."
"I'll guard first." He said
I didn't say anything, half of my heart is doubting it but half is saying that I should get some rest, so I decided to take a rest for 4 hours. I just hope people at base don't try to find me, I don't want them to worry too much especially my brother and Lexi.

July 28th 2013 - Inside Man and Broken Fences

Morning as usual, we have breakfast, secure the perimeter, and scavenge for some shit. Me and Lexi were eating when  we heard a scream. We rushed directly towards where it came from, though we didn't think extraordinary. We arrived at scene  and saw people are getting eaten by craze, someone has cut lose the fences. I told Lexi to stay close to Victor while my brother and I help others clearing our sectors from the craze, when   suddenly....

Day 16, July 12th 2013 - Get Well Soon

1:59 AM

I woke up this morning, and prepared the canned food to eat for breakfast. I opened it put it in a bowl and woke Mike up. He's injured pretty bad, his ankle got twisted and now he's having a fever. I took the bow and arrows and had a little practice and went back to Mike. Hope you get well soon. I barricaded the entrances and windows, and got some barbwires running around them. "Mike I don't know what to do." I whispered to myself, but of course he didn't answer. It's been almost 36 hours and he's still lying down here. I didn't know what to do. "I'll be back, I promise." I said to him. I went out with the bow and arrow, a crowbar and my backpack. Perhaps I could find some aid kit or some more food for him I thought. So off I went, I searched every single store but they were all the same. Food, water, food, water, though they are useful, all I really needed was a gauze and some fucking tylenols. That's when I decided to go through some small alley. I saw a craze, sleeping, I thought this was my chance to try my  ability. Pull the arrow backward, aim to the head, and. I fucking missed and I woke that fucker up. I'm fucked, I thought. I ran as fast as I could and I went up some ladder that leads to the top of the building. I went down the attic, and lohombehold, a drugstore. Just what I fucking need. I took all the drugs, meds, gauze, and everything I needed (basically everything.) then I went back to the garage. I boiled some water for Mike, and gave him 2 pills of Tylenols. He drank it and went back to sleep. I hope he'll get better soon because I don't know what to fucking do without him. I gotta make sure this building will hold until he's feeling better. I'm sorry Mike.

Day 15, July 11th 2013 - Teamwork Remember?

11:13 PM

"We're out of food, sorry guys. We should be divided into groups and loot these buildings." I said while putting the map of surroundings. "Oh man, Mike? When did you draw this? How do you know these buildings?" Lexi said. "Umm, reasons." I said, "Did you go alone man? What the fuck." I divided the group, Lexi with Jess since she isn't fully patched up. And I go with Greg. "Keep her safe." I whispered to Jess. They both went to the mini stores and we went to the sports store and some barber shop. "How old are you Greg?" I asked, "7" said he. "Your sister?", "She's 16." He responded, we looted some scissors, I got a hockey stick and a helmet, some baseballs and some football armour. I also got a bow and some arrows, I thought perhaps Jess could use this when those fuckers are chasing after us. After we got what we needed, we went back to the house and met up together. When I saw Lexi's face, "You're smiling, why? Tell me some good news Lex." I said. She didn't say anything and she dropped the bag full of bottled water and canned food and canned fruits. "Holy mama, that's some good shit." I said, then Jess punched me in the arm, "Oucchhh what was that for?", "Don't swear in front of Greg." She said. We decided to stay for a little while and eat some of the stuff that those two found. I showed them the bow and arrow and let Jess uses it. Though she needs practice, that's why I'll teach her sometimes this week. I have some skills, Phys. Ed experience. We went out for some more stuff and we accidentally encountered with some craze, there were too many of them. We decided to run, we found a huge wall leads to the other side, I boosted Jess, then Greg, then I boosted Lexi up, when I was about to climb the wall, I fell and sprained my ankle. I stood up an couldn't climb so I decided to run to towards the road, I fell again, then someone boosted me up and we run. It was Lexi. "Teamwork remember? I'm not fucking leaving without you." She said. We kept running, well I was limping. Then we found a garage door just barely half opened. I lifted the door so Lexi could put something underneath to hold it so we both could go in. We went in and closed the door. Then I passed out.
